Here are a few new pages from my Art Journal.

Introducing "Felicia"

I'd like to introduce "Felicia" my latest embroidered Art Doll. I really enjoyed the artistic process of creating this little lady. She captivated me all weekend. I spent hours with my needle and thread adding colors and textures to her just wondering how she would turn out. Rick and I took the girls to a coffee house on Sunday where I sat embroidering her face while Rick and the girls read their books. I'm pleased with the result of this doll and really thought she looked like a "Felicia".

I will start with the dress!

Usually I start a doll by creating the face. I have fallen in love with wool felt and I'm out until I pick some more up today. This prompted me to start with the dress. I picked up a large piece of linen to work on this time to try it out. After drawing out my pattern I colored in a few areas with prisma pens and began embroidering. By using this larger circle to clamp my fabric I can see the whole dress and just work until my hearts content. This will also make the beading part easier as well. This is my progress so far.

Journaling with Art Dolls

After a bit of a brainstorm I have decided to use images of my process with my art dolls as journal pages. Here is the start to my new journal.

Embroidered Art Doll (Day 2)

In the past I would normally spend about a week on each of my dolls. For some reason I am really lacking motivation in my art world at the moment, I feel a little lost. If I put down a project for too long it won't get finished because I end up losing interest. Last night I stayed up late so I could finish this art doll because of the way she was looking at me. I'm so glad I did. I didn't go into quite as much detail as I usually would but I finished her. Yea!!

Embroidered Art Doll (day 1)

I decided to take the plunge and experiment a little. These are some photos of the first few stages of creating my first embroidered Art Doll.
