"Dreaming With Angels"

I'm not sure what it is but as much as I love color, I am really drawn to creating black and white images lately. I guess it helps me focus more on the composition of the piece rather than what color I'm going to use next. This is a two page spread I've been working on for the past few days.

I thought it would be interesting to blend my realistic and whimsical style images.

I love to crop images I create, it turns it into a totally different piece.

I thought this image was interesting once I cropped it so I decided to use it as my Blog Banner. What do you think? I hope everyone is having a lovely weekend!

"Mint Anyone?"

I was in the mood to embellish so I bought 20 tins of Altoids and gussied them up with paint, sequence and a very thick gloss! I think these will make pretty gifts for all the teachers at school. Once they are dry I will wrap them in cellophane and tie around a pretty red bow. I always like to carry mints in my purse so I may just have to keep one for myself(O:

"Journal Update"

I decided the two page spreads were more interesting. The second image is a page dedicated to one of my favorite Christmas Carols!

This time of year, I often find myself humming "Silent Night". It's always been one of my favorites! Happy Holidays(O:

"My Girls"

I captured my girls on camera walking to the school bus this morning. It's a vision I want to remember so I thought I'd post a photo this morning(O:

"Gold Gilded Journal Cover & More...."

I have been busy working on my new journal project. I decided to give it the dramatic effect of having it's own platform. It works really well as a lap desk when I'm curled up on the couch doodling by the fire! This wooden board underneath the moleskin journal has been permanently attached by my using a tile adhesive (super strong!!!). Once I stuck my journal to the board I began to paint the board and the cover of my new journal. This is the start, I'm sure I will come back to it and possibly add beads and other sorts of rich colored embellishments. I kind of want it to look like a jewel from the outside. Then as you can see I finished the drawing on the first page. I'm still trying to decide if I want this journal to be single page drawings or two page spreads?? I'm leaning towards to single page but who know when I may change my mind. The image on that first page has hair that spells out Art Mail. I have recently received the most beautiful Mail Art from a dear friend of mine and it meant so much to me that she spent so much time creating it just for me, thank you Carmelina!!! I did this page as a reminder of how it made me feel to walk out to my mail box and receive such a treasure.

Inspired by a movie!

Yesterday I took my girls to go and see "The Chronicles of Narnia III" and in one of the scenes the character Lucy was in a mansion and came across this amazing book with a lock, it was gilded with gold and ornate embellishments from front to back. All I could think of was how amazing it would be to have a journal so beautiful. I have set out to create one in a smaller scale but this is the start.

"Homemade Chocolate Daisy-Pops"

It's my daughter Emma Grace's 9th Birthday on Thursday so I decided to make her class Homemade Daisy-Pops to celebrate(O: I cannot believe my baby is turning 9!

It's been so long since I made chocolate lollipops and it was so much fun! Now that I have all the supplies, I can see myself going a little nuts with these. I found the best way to keep the chocolate all at the same temperature (smooth enough for decorating). I put the different color chocolate melts into squeeze bottles and place them in a crock pot on low. Do this ahead of time so it's ready when you are. I found all my supplies at Michaels yesterday. I wanted to do something a little different than bringing in a cake. I think the children will enjoy them and the teachers too!!

"A Few December Journal Pages"

I was able to do a little playing around in my studio this weekend. Here are a few journal pages I'm getting started with.

Now I am off to do a little Christmas shopping. Enjoy your day everyone!
